Updates of what God is doing in people's lives
Sheila came to know about LIFE Ministry Uganda in 1996 when a team of staff from Mbarara MPTA (Million Populated Target Area) visited her school. She gave her life to Jesus Christ during that visit on 3rd November. The next time she met LMU staff was in 2000 in her first year at Kyambogo University. During fresher’s week, she received a white envelope with a welcome note, a letter from LMU, comment card and Four Spiritual Laws booklet among other items. She felt at home and straightaway got a shoulder to lean on for all her years at university.
The student leaders of LMU- Kyambogo helped her to grow in her relationship with God. She later attended the New Life Training Curriculum (NLTC) and her confidence to reach out grew. She started sharing her faith with students and lecturers using the Four Spiritual Laws booklet. She continued walking alongside other students and helping them to grow in their faith in a small group setting.
Her passion for ministry was so ignited that she started telling every LMU staff she met that she desired to join the Ministry. As she interacted with them, her personal conviction grew and she joined the Ministry as a missionary staff in 2005.
However, things changed when she got married in 2007. She could no longer work as a missionary staff since the policy by then did not accept one spouse on staff. Fortunately, her husband was sold out to partnering with staff and they supported them financially. Sheila continued to work with LMU as a support staff in the Campus department until 2012 when the office was closed.
She then decided to go back to her profession of teaching and also engage in a number of business projects. She still did ministry but not to her full satisfaction. No matter how much she convinced herself that all ministry is worthwhile regardless of where one is serving, she still sensed God leading her to be in LMU. During the Ignite Conference at the Imperial Resort Hotel in Entebbe, she made up her mind to rejoin LMU as a missionary staff in October 2019. Sheila currently serves as the Leadership Development and Human Resource Team Leader.
